C.E.O. Classic - Marware

Marware had very high rating on our last super review and this time it is no different. Their C.E.O. Classic is a finely made leather case with the a removable face. It has a suede interior to cause the least amount of scratches and the plastic face let’s you see the window and use the buttons. The inside of the lid also is suede. For those who don’t know suede leather is extremely soft and great for the iPod which is very scratch prone. The outside of the C.E.O. has a pocket for putting credit cards, keys or even your earbuds. Of course if you are not using the pocket you can’t really tell it is there. The elegant thing about the lid that really is different is the use of snapping buttons like those used on jeans to click it in place. Unlike Velcro the buttons last a long time. Of course Marware uses its patented kick-ass clip in this case which is one of the best belt clips I have ever used. There is also a slit in th bottom for docking and the case is pretty tight to fit your iPod in, but once in fits very nicely. This case is great for the classy and style conscious iPod user. http://marware.com

Evo - iSkin

iSkin, makers of the ProTouch PB keyboard protector and the best-selling Exo II brings you a new type of iPod case. They have taken suggestions from their loyal customers and added their own pixie dust to the Evo. This is sure to make the best selling list like its other products. The new iSkin Evo is vastly improved over the Exo. It has man new and useful features, such as the new and redesigned revoclip which rotates to give you security and keep you attached to your iPod .it now comes in nine designer colors ranging from green, orange, and purple to black and silver to match any outfit. The Evo also comes with many technical goodies such as holes in the back to stop overheating and as all iSkin iPod cases the Evo protects your ipod from scratches and any other immediate damages, it has new slits to keep out dirt, dust, and liquids that can cause real damage. It also has a port connector so it wont fall off, it secures your dock connector to the charger / port. One really cool thing about the Evo is that when held up to a light it glows a bright neon color. The Evo is $29.95 and is well worth the money, it can only be ordered at

iSleeve G2 - Terforma

Terforma is a new company to the super review. They make the iSleeve. If the company name is of any idea of their product they make cases that can withstand the rugged life of active individuals. The iSleeve, for example, is like driving a Jeep Wrangler with big tires, a tow cable and KC lights; you are ready for anything.
The case is difficult to explain so I will just go down the features. For one, it is made of thick rubber and the iPod slips into it through the front. It is difficult to get the iPod in, but easy to take out. The iPod, once secured, is surrounded by 3/16ths of an inch of rubber on each side. The bottom is open for docking and the top is open for your headphones.
The case has many functions. There is a strap you can fold out and wrap around your wrist or arm, there is a rugged clip that clips to your belt easily but do to its square design does not clip to pockets very well. Also, the back of the case is designed so you can wrap your earbuds up and store them. This is a godsend for many users. The earbuds are so easy to tangle.
This is the Humvee of iPod cases. The difficulties associated with putting the iPod in were only due to the hard rubber used. If they made it flimsy, well you would have an iSkin and thus defeat the purpose of making a rugged case. I like this case a lot and for an active individual it is great. Xtremity - Xtreme Mac

Extreme Mac, maker of the U.F.O. for iMac and other Macintosh only products introduced a new iPod case for the third generation iPods. It is Xtremity and it is a solid iPod case. Literally, this thing is solid and against the other hard cases for the iPod this comes in second. The case is well designed, holds your precious iPod securely and keeps dirt from getting on it because it covers the iPod completely. It is named Xtremity because you have to be an extreme individual to need this case. If you mountain bike, skateboard, or do any activities that can send your iPod into a dirt covered state then you should take a look at the Xtremity. The reason it comes in second is due to its lack of accessibility to the buttons without first having to lift a cover. Other than that peeve, the Xtremity is a great iPod holder. Xtreme Mac has redesigned the Xtremity’s plastic face to offer even more protection! It’s rubber covers the top more to help prevent scratches and the locking mechanism on the bottom keeps the iPod even more secure. http://xtrememac.com

PodPaq014 - BooqBags

Booq, makers of some of the best and most rugged cases for your Apple notebooks have ventured into the growing iPod case market. They applied features like ballistic nylon, soft rubber and neoprene to make a case that, at first glance, appears to be just for you. Well, having used one myself, they are not as good as I thought. Don’t get me wrong; all of Booq’s products are great. I have three of their bags, and they all rock, but this iPod case is not the same quality I have come to appreciate form their products. First of all, and it may be that I got a 40gb iPod case when I have a 15, but my iPod did not even sit in the case properly. While walking the case would turn upside down due to its swivel clip (most cases do), but the iPod would just fall off. In fact, if not for my plastic protectors from TrendyGeek, my iPod would have been covered with scratches.
The case can be used with or without the face. Without the face, there is a plastic window so you can see the screen and the ballistic nylon has holes so you can access the buttons. This was good, now don’t fear that the interior is nylon; it is soft black leather and is great for the iPod. The sides are stretching neoprene to make sliding your iPod in and out easier, but it was really easy because my iPod was too small for the case. The clip was a standard belt clip on the back.
With the face, the idea was pretty good for removing it. You use jean style buttons to attach the nylon case to the top of the case, but magnets connect to the bottom of the case. The magnets are pretty weak probably due to the fact the iPod is a hard drive. The weak magnets only work half of the time and constantly you’re the face comes unlatched on the bottom. Don’t fret, the inside of the nylon face is neoprene so the iPod won’t get scratched. Of course, there is a rubber-sewn hole in the top of the case large enough for headphones and remote. http://booqbags.com

Leather iPod Case - Proporta

I will try to keep this short and sweet but this case has so many features; I can’t list them all. I have to say, overall, it is in a category of alone.
Many always complain that a case will have an open face but dirt gets on it, or that the plastic on the face is covered so the buttons are hard to reach and finally that you can’t access the buttons or see the screen while it is in the case. So what do you do about this? Well you make a case that can turn itself to your preference. You slip your iPod(it is a tight squeeze) into the inside part of the case. It is thin anodized aluminum with an extremely soft interior. Of course there is an opening in the top for headphones to fit in, and the case is wider than the iPod so it can kind of come around the front a few millimeters to keep your iPod from slipping out. Now, you slip the outside on. The outside fits very well. You can slip it on so just the headphone jack shows but the rest is covered up and when you are ready to change songs you just take the inside out and flip it around. You can have the iPod visible or not, it is up to you. The aluminum looks good too but it is a case that is not watertight it just protects from everyday drops or dirt.
There are only two suggestions. I want colors, all five of them. I think this would be great for all iPod owners. Secondly, the clip is a little lose and not firm, but Proporta assured me they had been planning their own proprietary clip for months now. The case is awesome and fits the iPod very snug and secure.

Leather iPod Case - Proporta

Proporta is known for their leather cases. They make cases for popular cell phones and PDAs. Recently, they released two cases for the iPod and one case for the iPod mini. Their leather iPod case is like others but has some unique features that make it stand out.
The leather is not top of the line but is soft and high quality. The case is stitched with white thread so the contrast of the black leather and white string looks realy goood! It is simple and elegant case and has a small Proporta logo on the bottom. The way this case holds your iPod is the best part; they use two rubber pieces that you slide your iPod between. When secure, your iPod is not going anywhere but people can actually see it as opposed to other cases which cover the beautiful white shell. I was concerned the rubber would scratch my iPod but Proporta has sewn leather on the inside of the holders to make the experience pain free for your iPod and wallet. There is a slot for your headphones and pockets for credit cards. The final feature that makes this case great is its magnetic flap actually works. An issue I had with the Booq iPod case was the magnet was not very powerful. I close the flap over and the magnets find each other quickly and stay attached unless you pull them apart. It stayed close very well.

Showcase - Contour Design

We have a winner. The Contour Showcase scored high for design, functionality, style and price. It had high marks in each category. This seems to be the trend with most reviews I read about this case. It always scores high and I can see why.
The first feature is the plastic face. This is hard plastic, not latex, paper thin plastic, it is hard plastic with beveled holes where the buttons are. The face is secured by a genius locking mechanism that when locked, you can’t tell it is there. The iPod fits right in and this is the first case that tackles the problem of the 15/20 GB & 30/40 GB iPods. They have different depths so most companies have to make different cases for each but contour includes a soft back that just slips in. If you don’t use the plastic piece the heat dissipates through a large hole and also the reflective side is showing, but with the piece that feature is demolished.
I like the piece because it is easier for Contour but I lose functionality which is the heat dissipation and the ability to see the shining; instead I get a grey soft piece. This is the only problem with the case. The latch is great. It locks sideways so you have to put it sideway s on your belt and there are not any separate clips that can be purchased if you want to put it on your bike, or clip onto your pocket, but this clip works well. It is very strong, durable and has a great “contour”. I have to add; just recently Contour added colors to their cases so you can express yourself even more. Even if you don't have a mini you can show your true colors.
The entire case is smooth, sleek and goes well with the iPod. It is the Editor’s choice for best iPod case.
