Banned for life from Adelaide Hostel...

One of our Pt-time writers, Mike Livsey submitted this story as a short review of his experience at the Adelaide Hostel in San Francisco. A funny story and we could not help posting it. Some of the MPG writers stayed in the same hostel and it was a great place with plenty of room, satellite TV, wi-fi internet and the rules were very few. Of course, with Mike's luck, he is the one that gets into trouble. Here is his post...

I stayed at the Adelaide Hostel on Taylor Street in SF. First I stayed for two nights, Monday and Tuesday, then checked out. But I needed to stay again on Thursday. So I checked in late that night and tried to check out Friday afternoon. Well, the manager told me that checkout was at 11am that morning, so I would have to pay for another night. But no one told me that when I had checked in the two times this week. When I checked out on Wednesday, it was also in the afternoon and no one cared. The manager was on the phone, so he said to wait five minutes, but I couldn't, I was parked illegally out on the road. So I asked if he could hurry it up. When he got off the phone I explained what happened earlier in the week when I had checked in and out. He did give me my room key deposit back, but then got in my face and told me to never interrupt him again when he's on the phone. Then he said that I could never stay at that hostel again, that I was banned from their becuase I confronted him in front of others. Where did all that come from? That whole time I didn't say a word and just walked off, wondering why I just got banned from Adelaide Hostel.

I went back later to Adelaide Hostel to pick up my friends and the manager came back up to me and said I had to leave, that I was banned for life from that hostel. When I asked why and tried to explain how I saw the situation, he just said that I was arguing and had to leave. Since when was telling someone your point-of-view arguing? I thought we were having an open discussion.

As I was leaving I asked for his name. Turned out it is Hugh, "like Hugh Grant," he said. After that, he started to apologize for how he acted and said that I could actually come back to that hostel. He said that I seemed like a nice guy because I was helping my friends out and driving them to the airport. I hate it when apologies only come when you ask for someones name and rank, they get scared that you will file a complaint, I guess.

Even though I am no longer banned from Adelaide Hostel, I don't think I will stay there again. There are two other hostels on Taylor Street, one right across from Adelaide. My friends and I decided that we will stay at the other one and lob eggs across the street at Adelaide Hostel. Hmmm....tempting idea.

Hehe

funny thing is, in this entry, the adelaide hostel is now one of the google ads on here. i guess the word triggered a google adsense algorithim. so if curious about the place we stayed it is at the bottom of the entry.
