The Cozmo is the newest case from Waterfield Designs. It is an extremely sturdy case for carrying almost anything. There are two sizes; a small (14” x 10” x 4” / 1.9 lb.) and a large (16” x 12” x 5” / 2.7 lb.). Their prices range from $139-$149. The Cozmo is definitely a major addition to their family of cases with new features never seen in a Waterfield Case. With a reinforced side, solid bottom for protection and ability to stand on its own and more storage space than any case in class. This case also has colors schemes like other cases from the company.

At first glance, the Cozmo has a great design scheme. The middle of the case has a solid black look to it and has the standard Waterfield checkerboard style on the outer areas in non-symmetrical ovals around the outside. Hard to explain so check the pictures on their website. The bottom of the case is hard so the new Cozmo can stand upright. This is a new feature on their bags and will be well received. I wonder why Waterfield did not incorporate this earlier. The outside is very sturdy, thick and has great shape with one item or 10.
The inside of the Cozmo is not like a typical Waterfield bag. It has 5 pockets on one side for any computer accessories, pens or small items that you don’t want floating around your bag. Sadly, there is no iPod slot but not everyone has an iPod so I won’t be complaining too much. The opposite side of the case is a built in computer sleeve to put your notebook in and securely fasten it with a strap. The rest of the inside is very open and accessible to hold anything you would like. We could fit 5 text books, gym clothes and an Apple wireless keyboard along with our iBook and writing utensils / Apple Mouse. I could easily zip it closed and not feel the additional weight with the well-padded shoulder strap. The inside, on our unit, was a checkerboard yellow but can be built-to-order in a variety of colors. Another feature we noticed is the material holding the bag together at the inside stitch is leather showing how high quality this bag truly is.
Comfort and function are the most important factors in all of Waterfield’s bags and the new Cozmo does that with a new look that we may see as new Waterfield bags come out. You can hold a lot of items in interior and interior pockets. There is a special sleeve for your notebook, a comfortable shoulder strap as well as leather padded handles. The bag is made of great quality materials and worth every dollar. A final feature that always shows you got what you paid for is the logo / toll free number printed on the inside of the case. Wherever you are, you know Waterfield is only a phone call away. This is the best bag I have used from them and scores on my top ten of favorite bags. I have over 30 bags for my computers so to be that high on the list, says a lot for the Cozmo. You can find out more at SFBags.com
